The Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) has conducted a Team Managers’ Masterclass in Abuja as part of efforts to strengthen administrative capacity and improve the professional management of rugby in Nigeria.
The programme brought together team managers to enhance their understanding of team administration, planning, communication, competition preparation, player welfare, safeguarding, logistics and compliance with rugby regulations.
The masterclass also highlighted the critical role team managers play in supporting athletes, coordinating with coaches and federation officials, and ensuring teams are adequately prepared for domestic and international competitions.
The NRFF said the initiative reflects its commitment to building a sustainable rugby structure by investing in the personnel responsible for managing teams, alongside players and coaches.
The programme comes as the federation intensifies efforts to reposition Nigerian rugby, with the planned commencement of the Nigeria Rugby League in November 2026 forming a key part of its development strategy.
